Design and Implementation of MPEG4 Encoder Based on TMS320DM642

For the need of video compress in video communications,on the basis of the research for MPEG4 video encode standard,this paper presents an implementation of MPEG4 video encoder based on TMS320DM642 DSP,discusses the methods of program optimization and validating.Experiment results show that the proposed scheme realizes the MPEG4 real-time video encoding with the standard QCIF video sequence at the encoding speed of 25 fps and the image quality satisfies expected purpose.
