Review of mesoscopic traffic flow modeling and system simulation

This paper briefly described the macroscopic and microscopic traffic flow simulation models as well as correspon-ding software development,then gave a classification and summary mainly on mesoscopic traffic flow simulation modeling in the recent 40 years. It compared the advantages as well as disadvantages of different mesoscopic traffic flow models,and indicated the future research trends of mesoscopic traffic flow modeling and simulation.
