Research Progress of p53 Gene and its Function

p53 gene is a tumor suppressor genes, wild type p53 gene plays an important role on the cell cycleand cell apoptosis, has strong killing ability on cancer cells. Molecular weight of p53 gene coding protein is 53kD, and the P53 protein can stimulate Cipt gene producting a protein with molecular weight 21 kD. The later pro-tein can inhibit the cell through cell cycle into the mitotic activity of enzyme and inhibition of cell growth regula-tion and expression cell growth. On the basis of domestic and foreign research status of p53 gene and its encod-ing product, this article, respectively, carried out a detailed elaboration from the progress of its structure, mecha-nism, testing and functional aspects.
