Code phase interleaving method for GPS signal acquisition

An acquisition method was developed based on the conventional acquisition method to make global positioning system (GPS) receiver signal acquisition process more efficient. The distribution of acquisition points was optimized on geometry by analyzing the performance of the conventional method. The developed method increases the acquisition grid acreage and reduces the whole region search time for the same correlation peak degradation condition. Simulations show that the method is better than the conventional method in terms of the average degradation and the largest degradation,with more uniform distribution,and therefore,with more stable acquisition performance.
