On the Copyright Issues and Countermeasures of Self-publishing

As a new form of publication, self-publishing features overturns the status and relationship between the author and the publisher in the traditional publishing industry. The press does not hold the core status, the authors themselves act as publishers independently. With the self-publishing platform providing network service essentially, the status and rights of the author and the publisher need to be clear. At the same time, this issue raises a dilemma of the ownership of format design right and the application of proprietary copyright. However, self-publishing does not act against the theory foundation of copyright. Perfecting the legislation of copyright and applying the law correctly are the solutions.
