Balanced Method of Image Multiple Description Based on DCT

Multiple descriptions is used to code image into several independent bit streams and transmit them through different channels,which can solve the problems of packer loss or errors when unreliable channel transmit message.Image multiple-description code was introduced based on the unblocking DCT,and two different methods of MDC were presented according to different DCT coefficient.The simulation results show that the two descriptions both in single-description and two-descriptions reconstructed image generate satisfactory results and between the two descriptions it has better equilibrium.
