Improvements on English Abstracts of Sci-Tech Periodicals

The functions and values of abstracts in Sci-Tech papers are analyzed.Based on some problems in English abstracts of Chinese Sci-Tech Journals,this paper pointed out that the editors must attach importance to the Chinese writing of English abstracts and master the linguistic features of Engish of ST in order to gurantee the high quality and high indes rate of English abstract of Chinese SciTech periodicals.Samples are presented to illustrate those related problems in the paper.
