Theory of Accessibility and Analysis of Pronoun as Anaphora

The function of pronoun as anaphora is one of important components of the anaphoric system and main technique maintaining discourse coherence. Therefore, the interpretation of pronoun as anaphora is significantly meaningful for analyzing topic and structure in discourse. The present thesis, based on theory of accessibility, investigates the interpretation of pronoun as anaphora from four accessible factors including distance, competition, saliency and unity.
