A private-MIB based virtual machine monitoring framework of Vmware

Nowadays more and more virtualization techonologies are used in campus network applications to reduce economic costs,energy consumption,difficulty of deployments and managements.In this paper,the current Vmware management methods,elaborates on the weakness of monitoring Vmware virtual machines is explained,and a private-MIB based virtual machine monitoring framework is proposed.Compared with other various means of monitoring,this framework is customizable,strong and with high security.The framework can be easily integrated into the traditional SNMP network management systems,thus reducing the need for expensive commercial virtualization monitoring software.
