Information Accuracy versus Power Consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks:A Survey

Wireless sensor networks(WSNs) are characterized by small and low power sensors with limited sensing,computing and communicating capabilities.While energy efficiency is a dominant consideration in such energy constraint WSNs,information accuracy is another essential consideration no matter what applications are.However,tradeoffs between energy efficiency and information accuracy are inevitable in resource constraint WSNs.This motivates us to present an overview of the major factors related to these two issues.The current state of the art of the research work on these two issues has been evaluated,where different approaches are discussed under their related major factors.Some open research are also point out issues to guide more efficient optimization between energy efficiency and information accuracy.
