The Integrated Method of Constructing Contours Based on the Data Structure of the MapInfo in the Environment of Using of the GIS

Constructing contours is an important part of the development of GIS and Digital Mapping.This article introduces the implement of the method of constructing contours based on the data structure of the MapInfo in the environment of using of the GIS.The method is as follows:first,get the points which the contours get across by the height,and then smooth the points by three methods,at last draw out the smooth contours.At the same time,it is found that the smoothing method which the MapX possibly uses to smooth the contours is same as that of the average of the parabola.Experiment with so many data and tests on this system provides good results.
