According to the improvement and construction background of GIS Thematic Mapping Lab,combined with the function and character of lab construction,the author analyses and designs the GIS Thematic Mapping lab pattern based on the client/server and browser/server mixed system structure.Thus the lab can manage the experiments relevant to the courses such as GIS mapping,city GIS,digital surveying and so on.It concludes the object-oriented program development tech,map database design,mapping data integration and distribution and net management It provides an effective environment and tech platform for teaching,scientific research and practical engineering implement.
