Reduced-complexity V-BLAST algorithm for MIMO signal detection

V-BLAST algorithm for the signal detection of multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)communication sys-tems has a high complexity in its pre-processing.A reduced-complexity V-BLAST algorithm was proposed to improve it.This algorithm detects not only the layer with the maximum signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)/signal-to-interference-and-noise ratio(SINR)but also the ones with sufficiently large SNRs/SINRs in each stage of the V-BLAST algorithm.Simulation results show that while obtaining a very close performance to the conventional V-BLAST detection,the proposed re-duced-complexity V-BLAST algorithm achieves a significantly lower pre-processing complexity.
