Study of LAS-code and its application to 3G mobile communication systems

Large area synchronized code (LAS-code) is considered to be very important in CDMA mobile communications because of its interference free windows(IFW). At first, this paper studies separately the structure feature and number of LA-code, LS-code and LAS-code. Then, the features and the number of these codes are researched. Also, the scheme of application of LAS-code to the third generation mobile communication system CDMA2000 is discussed,and some advantages and problems of this application are analyzed. In the end, the performance results of LAS-2000 in AWGN and Rayleigh channel are simulated. The research shows the important application value of the LAS-code as an enhanced technique in the third generation mobile communication and wireless high speed data communication.
