Theoretical analysis of OFDM fine timing synchronization algorithm

The accuracy of timing synchronization influences the performance of OFDM -based system directly. However,there is no theoretical analysis of the accuracy of fine timing synchronization by now and the performance of fine timing synchronization algorithm is obtained by simulation commonly. In this paper, a fine timing synchronization algorithm based on autocorrelation characteristics of PN sequence is analyzed theoretically. As a result, the cumulative density function of fine timing error is derived. It is shown that the theoretical analysis results matches simulation results perfectly.
