Improvement of TCP Vegas congestion control mechanism in the mobile ad hoc network

The shortest round time—BaseRTT is used to control congestion in TCP Vegas,so it is crucial to get an accurate BaseRTT value.In the MANET,the frequent route changes can not be detected by TCP Vegas,so the evaluation of BaseRTT is incrorrect.This paper presents the RC-Vegas based on TCP Vegas,in which BaseRTT can be updated immediately according to the route changes.The results of the experiment show that the throughput is significantly improved using the advanced RC-Vegas at different speeds.
