A New Method for Reliability Analysis of Protection in Power Systems

A new concept of and an algorithm for analyzing the reliability of protection in power systems are proposed.The probability models according to different working conditions are set up,on the basis of which,this paper studies the technique of quantitatively analyzing the reliability of equipment based on the Markov model.The intactness degree is regarded as the criterion for the reliability of protection.Three different designs of protection are given to demonstrate the proposed techniques.The result is in agreement with the actual design.
