Songhua River Monitoring System on Point Sources and Water Quality with SCADA and GIS

In order to coordinate with the rehabilitation policy on Songhua River and facilitate river water quality management, a pilot Songhua River online monitoring system on point sources and river water quality was built up with state-ofthe-art information technology. Employing SCADA system and GIS customization,the integrated wireless remote communication and management of water quality information are realized. The system includes two subsystem including point sources monitoring subsystem and data application platform, where they connect on the data layer by ODBC interface. The former subsystem covers the lower computer hardware structure,information transport system, monitoring management program in upper computer. The data application platform is able to access, store, analyze, manage and display the relevant environmental and socioeconomic information and hence support the decision making.
