Interface design for subway dispatching workstation

With the increasing capacity of Urban Transit operation, the rapid response ability and the efficient processing power for the dispatcher to response emergencies became much stricter than before. The interaction between the dispatcher and workstation also became more frequently. In application to dual screen, the article summarized the guidelines of designing the interface of the dispatcher workstation. Taking the ecological interface design( EID) theory as the basis, the abstract layers of display and control system were analyzed. A method of layout design was presented based on the Graphical User Interface(GUI), ergonomic guidelines and the EID theory. A specific design was made based on the system of Beijing Subway No.1 Line.
