A new spatial scalable shape coding algorithm for MPEG-4

Scalable coding and shape coding are two pivotal techniques in MPEG-4 video coding. The paper proposed a new spatial scalable shape coding algorithm f or MPEG-4 based on the features of video’s shape information. The simulations r esult shows that the new algorithm is fast in coding speed and small in coding b it-rate.
