According to the results of the research on local fault rate model, a new dynamic model of local fault interval is set up, which is for repairable systems. By means of the distributing characteristic analysis for the model, the maintenance cycle of the repairable system can be determined effectively. The main principle is, calculating the three-intervals mean, the three-intervals mean square error, the total mean and the total mean square error of the local fault interval, appling the method of three-points mean convergence, and comparing with the model curve, the changing status of the system, specially the turning point, will be estimated. The new method is specially suitable for large-scale complicated and single-sample systems. Based on the large number of statistics datas, an estimating example for the running state and maintance cycle of the crane's electrical system is presented.
