Application of GIS on Traffic Information Web Promulgation System

This paper considers the facts that in ITS, promulgating of the traffic information is the ultimate form of the traffic information system, whereas the means of the promulgation are very limited and the content and amount of the information are far from the needs at present, while applying the web will make the amount of the information plentiful. At the same time, Geographic Information System can deal with, analyze, query and display the traffic information not only statically but also dynamically. Due to the reasons mentioned above, the combination of them will be an important direction of development for traffic information promulgation, which, now in China, has just begun. This paper applies the way of system engineering to study the principle, appliance and framework of this form of promulgation, and discusses a method that is suitable at the present time.
