A New Approach to Infrared Image Enhancement Based on Homomorphic Filter
Li Yun · Infrared Technology · 2012
For the lack of infrared images, such as low contrast, low resolution and large noise,a new infrared image enhancement method based on homomorphic filter is presented. This method first use adaptive median filter for image denoising,to prevent the noise is enhanced in the next step. Then extract the image details by using homomorphic filter,so that the detail of the image can be enhanced. Finally,in order to overcome the defects of the homomorphic filtering result, the method that contrast limit adaptive histogram equalization(CLAHE) is used to further adjust the dynamic range. The results show that this approach has a good effect of infrared image resolution and contrast enhancement.
