Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of atorvastatin combined with levamlodipine in Treatment of Patients with essential hypertension. Methods Ninety-five patients with essential hypertension were randomly assigned into treatment group and control group.Control group was administrated levamlodipine and treatment group received atorvastatin in addition everyday for 3 months. The changes of blood pressure and lipid levels in two groups were measured before and 3-month after treatment.Data were analysed with statistical methods. Results Before treatment, there were no differences on blood pressure and blood lipids in the two groups(P0.05).After 3 months, lipid parameters and systolic blood pressure declined in treatment group more than in control group, while diastolic blood pressure and pulse pressure decreased in control group more than in treatment group. The differences were statistically significant(P0.05).During the treatment, all patients had no serious adverse events. Conclusion Atorvastatin combined with levamlodipine can more significantly reduce systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure and blood lipids of patients with essential hypertension.Clinical efficacy of the combination therapy is more significant than that of the single antihypertensive regimen. There is no significant difference in adverse reactions and tolerability of two groups of patients. The combination therapy is an ideal method to antihypertensive treatment.
