At present there are problems in the strategy, which integrates Geographical Information System (GIS) fordistribution system with Supervisory Control and DataAcquisition (SCADA) system, such as repetitive functions andnon-uniform data description as well as interface for the sameobject. By means of analyzing the functions and architecturesof the two systems and by way of bringing in ComponentObject Model (COM) and ActiveX technology, each functionmodule of the two systems is integrated on bottom-mostdeveloping platform to avoid repetitive development; and opensub-interfaces are provided for the purpose of flexiblesecondary development. The database structure of theintegrated system is analyzed and the unified databasemanagement is actualized by ActiveX Data Object (ADO)technology; on the basis of platform interface function the datacan be exchanged between GIS and SCADA, thus the seamlessconnection of GIS with SCADA is realized, and the dataconsistency and real-time performance of the integrated system are ensured.
