Investigation on Diseases and Pests of Main Corn Commercial Varieties in South Hebei

The diseases and pests of 36 corn commercial varieties under natural condition in South Hebei were investigated.The results showed that there were differences among the occurrence degree of diseases and pests of different corn varieties.Most varieties were not resistant to aphid,and they were lightly susceptible to northern leaf blight of corn,southern leaf blight of corn and curvularia leaf spot disease,while the corn brown spot and corn rust were common and serious in recent years.Except for the variety resistance,the temperature,humidity and precipitation were the main factors influencing the occurrence of aphid and corn rust from the last ten days of August to the middle and last September.
