An Overlap Window-Based Frequency-Domain Narrowband Interference Suppression Algorithm and Its Analysis

An algorithm with overlap windowing for narrowband interference suppression in direct sequence spread system (DSSS) is proposed. Overlap windowing is adopted in this algorithm to reduce the spectral leakage associated with truncation and to lessen the SNR degradation due to windowing. The overlap windowing algorithm and two threshold detection algorithms are used in simulation to suppress the narrowband interference. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that both the spread spectrum signals distortion and BER degradation due to windowing can be eliminated with this algorithm. Furthermore, this algorithm also has good performance in suppressing the narrowband interference in DSSS.
