The data structure and the data descriptions of the multi-layer real time database suitable for China petrochemical were studied.The operation primitives of the update and the retrieve of the real time database were given.The memory mapping technology for visiting the database was described.Some opinions on construction of the multi-layer real time information systems were given.The database standards and the open standards were called out and the support for the multi-layer MES systems was expected.
