The Dongfeng reservoir is a big multiple purpose reservoir, taking irrigation and flood control as the dominant factor, giving consideration to water supply, power generation and cultivation. The initial closure scheme is difficult to accomplish before freezing period. The closure scheme is optimized and the construction intensity is reduced to guarantee closure construction accomplishment on time. The practice proved that the technology has many merits of high－ speed construction, good impervious effect and low cost.
