A study of increasing rate interception of network data

With network application explosively growing in recent years, the most network monitor and IDS run in al General-Purpose Operating Systems and depend on packet capture tool capturing network data. They can not adequate for the increase in network data rates. The paper discusses using General-Purpose hardware and modifying Operating Systems kernel increase interception rate of the packet capture to adequate for high speed network.
