GIS Software Architecture Based on the Internet

Based on the retrospection of the history of the development of GIS software architectures, this paper introduces the new GIS software architecture in the Internet age. It is usually called InternetGIS. The new architectures are based on the B/S system. The paper also analyzes the characteristics of this architecture and describes the main techniques in the development of GIS based on this architecture.
