Comparison of Forwarding Strategies Used in Location-based Routing in Ad Hoc

Zhang Li-jun · Journal of PLA University of Science and Technology · 2004

The impact of forwarding strategies in location-based routing for average number of hops was analyzed. Average forward progress was obtained through probability analysis and computed by the MATLAB. The larger the average forward progress was, the smaller the average number of hops. The result shows that the greedy forward strategy is regarded as the best of the four strategies in terms of average number of hops, and convenient to implements in high density Ad Hoc network. It is very suitable for high density Ad Hoc network.
