A GIS application model based on COM/CORBA interoperation

As GIS has been an extremely heterogeneous and distributed environment, more and more people have come to realize the necessity of the application of middleware in GIS. The two major technical representations of middleware technology are DCOM and CORBA,both of which have their own advantages. In this paper,a GIS application model based on COM/CORBA is presented,which fully utilizes their respective advantages.
