A Response Identity Authentication Mechanism based on Backwards-Direction Notification for SIP Retargeting Call
Yusen Zhang · Computers & Security · 2008
The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) which is widely applied to the control and management of the IP-based real multimedia session is the core signaling control protocol of the Next Generation Network (NGN) based on softswitch; Retargeting is a ubiquitous routing pattern in the course of the SIP call process. Response Identity Problem with Retargeting (RIPR) is a difficulty spot in the security research area of SIP.This paper firstly expatiates on cause and effect of the RIPR,then it proposes a Response Identity Authentication Mechanism based on Backwards-Direction Notification and makes a brief analysis of its security at the end.
