Dynamic Construction and Maintenance of Wavelet-based Histogram

This paper utilizes the mathematical theory and method of wavelets transform to realize the wavelet decomposition on the underlying data distributions.A novel method based on the wavelet coefficients is adopted to construct and maintain wavelet-based histogram,and the relevant algorithm is given.The experiment shows that our method can offer good selectivity estimation and approximation technique.
