Study of a special kind of process in SystemCand state machine

As a system modeling language, SystemC supports various abstract levels of hardwaredescription, software/hardware co-design and verification. There is a special kind of process namedclocked thread process defined in SystemC. Being a behavioral description, it is optimized for syn-thesis and best suitable for describing implicit finite state machine (FSM). This paper presents themain features of clocked thread process, and compares the advantages of implicit finite state ma-chine to explicit finite state machine via an example of bus controller design.
