Under wide-band noise jamming and follower jamming, the conventional frequency hopping system tends to lose frequency-hopping processing gain.In order to improve the communication reliability, this paper presents a new FH scheme, which is called pattern modulation frequency hopping(PMFH) scheme. The hopping frequencies fall chronologically into groups,in which some frequencies are transmitted while the others are not. Thus,FH carriers form different patterns.Based on the theoretical analysis and simulation, the performance of PMFH scheme under wide-band jamming and follower jamming is analyzed and compared with FH/BFSK system. The results show that BER of PMFH scheme decreases significantly, that the follower jamming signal helps demodulation and that the pattern modulation frequency hopping scheme keeps good communication reliability and confidentiality.
