An E2E QOS Control Mechanism Based on Session Delay in IMS

IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) is proposed by 3GPP to provide real-time multimedia services.In the future,the multimedia services will give priority to video,audio and mixture of video and audio,so they need high quality on real-time and delay.The traditional QOS(Quality of Service) mechanism based on policy is analyzed,and a new QOS mechanism based on policy is proposed.The new mechanism improves the function of PDF(Policy Decision Function) and does some extension to the SIP,so implements the cooperation between each layer.The simulation result indicates that the new mechanism proposed in this paper can shorter the session setup delay in IMS effectively.
