A new hop-by-hop explicit congestion control mechanism and its performance analysis

With the widespread use of the network with high bandwidth and high latency,traditional congestion control algorithm cannot work effectively any more,and the feedback delay is one of the important factors that influence the performance of congestion control algorithm.In high bandwidth-delay product network,it may lead to a new congestion caused by excessive feedback delay.Hence,based on the explicit control protocol(XCP) architecture,a new hop-by-hop congestion control scheme is proposed,which uses the feedback from the router directly.Simulation result shows that compared with XCP,HBH-XCP can response to the congestion faster,making the flow gain smoother throughput and lower delay jitter.
