Development and Application of the Water Environmental Geochemistry Information System

GIS is the important means to study the environmental geochemistry question. Based on ArcEngine GIS platform and VC++ visual programming tool,the environmental geochemistry information system about the surface water in Huangshi City was established. The system had the functions of the information management,information query,statistic analysis and the water quality assessment. The technology scheme of establishing the system and the key technologies of establishing the system frame and the water quality evaluation model were mainly discussed. Using this system,the environmental quality of surface water in Huangshi City was evaluated. The results showed that the establishment of the system was helpful for the scientific management of environmental geochemistry information of surface water. And the evaluation results obtained by using the evaluation model also provided basis for solving the environmental question.
