Simplified Subspace DOA Algorithm with An Auxiliary-Vector Basis

A simplified direction of arrival(DOA) approach based on an auxiliary-vector is proposed.The noise subspace matrix is derived from a signal subspace basis computed by the orthogonal auxiliary-vector(AV) filtering algorithm(decomposition is not carried out at all).Theoretically,this new method is significantly lower in computational complexity.Furthermore,the simulation results show that the new algorithm not only outperforms the MUSIC algorithm for both correlated and uncorrelated sources,but also surpasses the DOA-AV algorithm for correlated sources in performance when data record size or input SNR is large as well.
