The Structure of the DCM File and the Realization of its Encoding and Decoding

In this paper we summarize the information related with the DCM file in DICOM standard, describe its file structure and then present an approach of developing standard encoding/decoding program using DELPHI. Finally, some points which must be paid attention to in the realization of DCM file Codec are given in detail.
