From Relational Database to FLogic Ontology
Ze Cao · 2007
The existing approaches of extracting ontology from relational databases can only extract a small subset of semantics embedded within a relational database. In my opinion, the potential source of these problems lies in that the primary focus has been on analyzing key correlation. As an attempt to resolve the problems, we propose a novel approach, which is based on an analysis of key, data and attribute correlations, as well as their combination. Our approach allows the user to extract more semantics from the relational database, including inheritance and optimization structures.
