Research on Fast Display Method for Electronic Chart

An fast electronic chart display method is presented according to the data characteristic of the electronic chart. This method in which memory bitmap and memory buffer techniques are used can expedite the display process of electronic chart and solves the infinite zoom and quick moving problem with multi-scale electronic chart in ECDIS. It has been applied in a new ECDIS and proved to give better display results.
