Application of height information to overpass map matching

Two-dimensional Navigation System did not integrate height information and it had some shortcomings like poor accuracy and low real-time performance in dealing with overpass map matching. These shortcomings were very difficult to be improved by increasing the accuracy of electronic maps and GPS signals. An algorithm in which height information was applied into overpass map matching was proposed. Experiments verified the following facts: map-matching accuracy was increased up to 90%; average judgment time was decreased to half; errors were corrected within 6 seconds.
