Virtual Private Network and Security of Information

In this paper, we bring forward that VPN is not only envirnoment of communication but also technology of networking. To eliminate mistakes about VPN, we analyse primary technology of VPN: route filter technology and tunnel technology, and also introduced three kinds of important tunnel technology: PPTP, L2TP and IPsec. Finally, we classify VPN according to different fields of application in structure, and this help ones to understand VPN in essence.
