Wreck /Obstruction is one of the most important features in a chart because of its function to navigation safety.The paper discussed the design of the wreck / obstruction database based on WebGIS,summarized the design principles,general framework and functions of the database.The system could help to reduce workload,improve the nautical charting and ensure its high quality,meeting the current demand for maritime safety with high accuracy and reliable data.
