This paper analyses the characteristics of method of sharing CD-ROM databases in the network and network CD database model. The network mapping technology is studied, and a new method using the network mapping technology to CD image server to realize sharing CD-ROM database in the network is suggested.Testing results indicate that this method can solve the problem of visited supporting of the document systems. The throughput of reading data from the CD image server is much higher than that from the sharing CD-ROM,and at the same time the response speed is equal to the CD image server.
