Review of Artificial Intelligence Methods in Motor Fault Diagnosis

Based on analyses of the traditional motor fault diagnosis, an overview on the recent developments in the emerging field of intelligence-based electric motor fault diagnosis is given in this paper, and several typical intelligent fault diagnosis schemes using neural networks, fuzzy logic, neural fuzzy and genetic algorithms are presented with descriptive diagrams and simplified algorithms. Their advantages and disadvantages are compared.
