A integrated based reliable forwarding protocol(FiaRD) was proposed to enhance the data transmission efficiency in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN) featured by unreliable link quality.Utilizing characteristic of dense deployment of sensor nodes and broadcast feature of the wireless channel,FiaRD enabled multihop clusters to be self-organized by the neighboring nodes along transmission path and then leveraged the collaborative forwarding among cluster members to enhance the delivery ratio and energy efficiency. In FiaRD,forwarding cluster at each hop was dynamically selected through distributed fuzzy integrated assessment combined with back-off competition. In the mechanism,a minority of superior clusters were selected from several next-hop forwarding candidate clusters to compete for forwarding based on integrated for the sake of lower collision probability and higher forwarding efficiency. The simulation results demonstrate that FiaRD can effectively reduce the transmission energy consumption while ensuring the reliable transmission.
